Downtown Bike Festival

Unfortunately, there will be NO Downtown Bike Festival in 2009.

We would like to thank Wells Fargo and the Daily Sentinel for 5 great Bike Festival years!

About the Festival

Soon after opening Brown Cycles, owner Chris Brown - the father of 3 (soon to be 4) youngsters - realized that there was a void in the Grand Junction community. While there are several festivals for avid mountain bikers, there was little opportunity for bicyclists of all ages and abilities to get together, swap stories, share experiences and learn more about this wonderful pastime. In fact, more than half a century before, downtown Grand Junction was home to a thriving annual bicycle festival (click for Local Bike History).

In 2004, the Grand Junction Bike Festival was born to instant success. Hundreds of bicyclists gather on a May Saturday for contests, music, and to show off their skills and bikes.

Special thanks go to Wells Fargo Bank, The Daily Sentinel, KJCT, Moose/Magic/Kjoy, and the Museum of Western Colorado.
